PERILOUS PARADISE is a non-fiction piece I wrote as a contributor to Mona Magazine, Issue 02, 2022.
Mona is a community-based magazine for diverse regional, rural and remote women. The magazine’s objective is to overcome barriers associated with women from diverse backgrounds being able to participate in media representation.
PERILOUS PARADISE is an homage to living life on your own terms, even if that means facing the perils of nature and isolation.
“My husband and I transformed about one quarter of our block into gardens and lawns with sculptures and garden structures placed tastefully here and there. We landscaped the gardens with shrubs, English deciduous trees for structure and colour and a variety of flowering plants to give glorious displays in Spring and Summer. We have ponds and fountains and specially designed rose gardens and parterre…..
… but that was when there were two of us.”
